Company History

2002-2004

Brand Startup

Mr. Yuuki Osamu, current Representative Director and President of aucfan Co., Ltd., sold his unused computer at a second-hand store during college to raise funds for the bar exam application fee. The store offered 4 million yen. However, upon listing the item, he noticed the emerging trend of auction websites. Ultimately, the item sold for 15 million yen—nearly 4 times the original offer. The buyer was also delighted with the purchase. This experience sparked his interest in online auctions, leading him to start sourcing and selling overseas products online.

Scaled Operations and IPO

Aucfan Co., Ltd. was established through a spin-off from Aucfan Inc. to take over the operations of aucfan.com. The site was relaunched as a full website, and new member-exclusive services were added. By introducing select paid services, the business expanded successfully and went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2013.

Strategic acquisitions to complete the full industry chain layout

While advancing its core business, the company is also exploring opportunities to accelerate growth through business transfers. In 2015, it accepted transfer proposals for NETSEA, Japan's largest B2B wholesale marketplace (then operated by DeNA), and ReValue, a service for liquidating stranded inventory. Both services were integrated into the group as part of its marketplace business.

Since 2025

Transitioning to the D2C business model

Through overseas expansion, the company has continued to build its procurement network and distribution infrastructure. During this process, we achieved progress in planning, developing, and selling our own-brand products for the Japanese market targeting China, with sales growth in both B2B and B2C segments. Building on these achievements, the company entered a new business phase starting in 2025, transforming into 'D2X Commerce'.

The independent brands 'AP LAB' and 'KACHIKA' leverage China-based manufacturing facilities to develop and produce their own products. In addition to domestic sales in Japan, the company also conducts wholesale operations for corporate clients. Furthermore, it has pioneered live commerce by launching a self-procurement and direct sales model on TikTok Shop in Japan.

Through these initiatives, the company is advancing a 'D2X (Direct to X)' model that delivers products directly to both B2B and B2C customers.

Aucfan Group will leverage its accumulated data, distribution infrastructure, and global network to advance into a new growth phase centered on D2X Commerce.
